Commercial property developer Jansons Property has appointed Haslams as joint agents to find occupiers for its site on the Basingstoke Road in Reading.
Haslams will be sponsoring Andrew Fraser and Roger Reid to ‘don’ the lycra on the 17th May when they take part in the Jones Lang La Salle Property Triathlon at the famous Eton Dorney Lake, the rowing venue for the 2012 Olympic Games. The event which is one of the UK’s largest triathlons is open to property professionals, has become a well established date in the property calendar. Previous entrants have also included Formula 1 driver Jenson Button and Olympic Triathlete Helen Jenkins who used the event as part of their training.
Gambia is the smallest independent country in Africa, and one of the poorest in the world. Haslams Chartered Surveyors recently sponsored Will Morris, Graduate Surveyor to travel to Gambia to take part in charity work building medical facilities in Serrakunda, the largest town in the country.
Construction of Reading’s first speculative industrial scheme for five years began on site last month. The scheme, which is being built by Aberdeen Asset Management on behalf of European Fund Clients, will comprise 16 units totalling 47,131 sq ft. This development will be the first industrial speculative build in Reading for 5 years, completion is due in November 2013.
Haslams were once again delighted to sponsor the University of Reading’s Donor Day which took place on Saturday 23rd March. This year, the event took place at the Greenland’s Campus in Henley on Thames providing the 200 or so guests with a delightful view of the River Thames, although with a sprinkling of snow at points!
The Housing Minister has recently announced about £24.7 million funding for the Shinfield Eastern Relief Road (ERR). The loan has been agreed after a successful bid by the Wokingham Borough Council and the University of Reading to help with the development of some 2,500 new homes and community facilities near Shinfield upon.
