Schedules of dilapidation

We have a wealth of experience dealing with dilapidations – where conditions in a building’s lease relating to upkeep and repairs have not been met.

Haslams can act for either landlord or tenant, and have an excellent track record of securing the right level of settlement in all market conditions.

We are often asked by tenants to help them establish whether:

  • The schedule of dilapidations the landlord has issued is accurate.
  • The standard of repair required by the schedule is justified.
  • Any statutory reliefs are available to the tenant.
  • They should carry out repairs themselves or negotiate a financial settlement to cover the costs.

We also work on behalf of landlords to:

  • Prepare accurate and enforceable schedules of building disrepair that will stand legal scrutiny.
